Winchester Community Music School celebrated Broadway with seasoned professionals and beginners joining in to sign Broadway tunes on the back lawn of the School.
Over 40 musicians and dancers performed across 22 sites all over Winchester. From Cuban dance, classical, rock, bluegrass to a 10-piece accordion ensemble, the day was packed with diverse sounds and sights.
Organized by members of the Spectrum, QSA, SoJust student clubs and NFSJ student interns on the Winchester Town Common. This free family-friendly event was truly both a celebration as well as an educational festival. To celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Yazhi Guo and ShinDaiko performed in an evening of Chinese and Japanese music. Master Guo, widely known as the best Suona player in Asia, performed both jazz as well as traditional music while ShinDaiko, with its powerful taiko drums, opened the event. This event was sponsored by the Network of Social Justice, Chinese American Network of Winchester, the Winchester School of Chinese Culture, Winchester Cultural Council and Winchester Cultural District.
