"Find Your Light" by Jaina Cipriano
|
This installation is a luminous earthwork conceived as a moment of orientation within instability. Inspired by theorized nuclear waste warning monuments, fairytale landscapes, and speculative signage, the work merges subtle menace with quiet invitation. Activated at night, the work becomes a glowing guidepost. Sometimes there is no correct direction, only the next step forward. Jaina Cipriano is an experiential artist, filmmaker, and photographer whose work explores how constructed worlds shape internal life. Drawing from personal history, folklore, and speculative monuments, her practice centers on building immersive environments that allow viewers to confront uncertainty and memory through embodied experience. Jaina is a former Winchester resident. See more by Jaina Cipriano |

Balancing Act
Bronze and aluminum “Balancing Act is a standing bronze figure of a man holding a log over his head while balancing on a ball. Upon the log perch a hawk and a squirrel. All things in our natural world must be kept in ecological balance. Man has a large impact on this, and it is always a bit precarious. This is a modern take on Atlas holding up the earth.” Winchester Riverwalk Sculpture Park at Griffin Museum, 67 Shore Road On display through October 2027 See more by Josie Dellenbaugh Sponsored by Arts Winchester Photo Credit: Cynthia Randall |
